YES. Put it in the books.
Deep thanks to Matt Beck (guitar) and Richard Hammond (bass), and of course Paul Rizzo and the Bitter End, NYC.
RECAP
The show went off a little late—15 minutes or so—but it was because I wanted everyone to have a chill time getting into their seats, and getting out afterwards. Everything chill, you know? Holiday vibes. A truly beautiful crowd. Friends new and old. A healthy contingent of students, which is such a great feeling.
I debuted two new ones: “Shine,” which came out in 2024; and “Time to Turn Around,” which is new-new, not recorded. Should it be recorded? I don’t know, but I really liked it! I know it’s a little wordy, and it’s got another character who rips through the fabric of space-time, which is becoming a common theme for me. (“Home” comes to mind.) I guess you’d call it magic realism? Actually, it’s just something I’ve always wanted to do, myself. “Art provides what life does not,” or at least…not yet.
The Holiday Omens were fantastic, as always—poignant, astute, scary, even…funny? Honestly, I don’t get how it works, no matter how many people ask. All I know is that it shouldn’t work, and yet it does.

TWO OF MY FAVORITE ADS FOR THE SHOW
Thanks to all of you who came out, and the many who streamed. I love being able to offer that as an option to those in far away places.
This was a really fun one. Let’s do it again sometime.
…or you can buy me a cup of coffee.
